Meet the visual artists of Seduction

In preparation for this year’s spooky season, we asked SEAF alumni for works of art the explore the darker side of sensuality. With the theme of Bloodbound in mind, our Festival Director and Exhibition Curator selected art born from deliciously taboo or macabre desires. We are pleased to showcase 40 pieces of art by 14 artists at Gallery Erato for the months of October and November. This specially curated exhibit will open on Thursday, October 2nd from 5pm-8pm and be on view through November 16th. Of course, you will have ample opportunity to peruse the art while you enjoy all the delights of Seduction: Bloodbound on October 18th, but if you want first chance to purchase art, you will want to join us for the opening on October’s First Thursday Art Walk.

François Dubeau

2025 06 05 a103resize

Dubeau’s work proceeds from a rejection of the growing complexity and accelerating pace of our modern lives. Going back to the most instinctual of basics, Dubeau’s work suggests a modern cave painting, exploring themes and forms that have inhabited humankind’s psyche since the dawn of time. His work is a soothing antidote to the hysteria and flashing lights of the outside world. Seduction: BloodBound’s art was created by Dubeau specifically for this year’s event.

Ellen Dresel

Ellen Dresel (she/her) is 36 and was raised in Renton Highlands and works primarily with watercolors on paper and enjoys utilizing masking gum. Ellen enjoys the lack of control with watercolors vs acrylic and loves being surprised by every piece. Her work can be divided into two main categores. First, lots of landscapes: inspried by the PNWs mountains, water features, and sheer greenness. And second, abstract art that can be simply exploring the play of colors or a way for expressing feelings without words. As a queer individual she finds art a powerful way to process Big Feelings without being so analytical.

Jeremy Rise

rise bleeding

Jeremy Rise is a Pacific Northwest artist whose creative drive has always been finding a way to make the most beautiful version of what is in front of him. This creativity manifested into the world of soft sculpture through a combination of crochet, knitting, weaving, macrame, and other various textile manipulations. His work is inspired by his molecular science background paired with his love for the macro components of the natural world experienced through copious beach and jungle adventures. He uses his art to fight for preservation of the landscapes he’s inspired by. He is part of a global organization of artists called the Earth Creative, whose purpose is to use their art for climate action. Rise does this by using exclusively recycled and repurposed materials to create his sculptures. His work can be found in a variety of environments whether residential or commercial ranging all over the world, including large interactive installations for music festivals to permanent static installations in high rise office buildings.

Later in life as network TV reached their rural home, pop culture took over in the forms of Charlie’s Angels and Happy Days. They dreamed of becoming a combination of Fonzie and Charlie (a faceless voice on a speakerphone, who commanded beautiful overqualified women). Punk Rock took over their life in 1980 as they strove to lead a life of stigma. They then embarked on a career in porn on this new medium called the WWW and the Mosaic browser.

Dave Clay

As a figure artist, I aim to create art that evokes an internal, interpretive emotional response – to make empathic connections, personal to the viewer’s own experiences. My figures exist in textured, atmospheric abstract spaces, disrupted by and intertwined with their environment. I invite viewers to bring their own interpretations to the paintings, to relate to the figure’s ambiguous state, and find empathy in the human condition.

AHsome Arts LLC

An proud PNW based erotic artist with a goal to dabble in the goofy, frolic in the weird, and constantly flirt with silly. “The main objective of my art is to let people laugh and enjoy the lighter side of sexuality. While life has hardships, it is always kind to let yourself stop, breathe, look at something stupid and enjoy and laugh, so then you can spread that positivity and joy.”
