Lesley Carmichael

“I love the transformational thrust of art; in all its forms, it touches the psyche, stirs up curiosity, and expresses shared humanity. I first experienced SEAF in 2006 as both an attendee and a volunteer. I was moved by the beauty, honesty, and dynamic range of the art and the community it brought together. Since that time, I’ve been involved with SEAF in multiple capacities, including volunteering as a docent, purchasing art, and serving as a SEAF committee member. Most significantly, I had the pleasure of serving as the Interactive Performance Art Director for several years. In that role, I brought together diverse and creative performance troupes, and we reveled in surprising and delighting festival guests with a flavorful array of pop-up performances all around the festival floor. I love the breadth of art at SEAF, and we were thrilled to add whimsy and sass through accessible, ephemeral performance art. I’m also proud to be an ongoing SEAF Art Activist, and I treasure all of the exquisite SEAF art displayed around my home.”

Genea Morrow

genea morrow2

Genea Morrow is a self-taught artist and creative entrepreneur based in Seattle. Her interest in art began in 2012, but it wasn’t until 2021 when Genea launched Black Omi Art Co. Though her journey wasn’t always easy, she often opens up about her struggles with imposter syndrome and how she continuously works on her insecurities surrounding her late start to painting

As the founder of Sensual Sessions Paint and Sips, she has redefined the traditional paint and sip experience, infusing it with sensuality, empowerment, and artistic expression. With her desire to share her vision with a broader audience, Genea is working on expanding  Sensual Sessions Paint and Sips to more cities. Currently, we hold sessions in Pioneer Square and Lynnwood, Wa.

In addition to her work with Sensual Sessions, Genea continues to create and exhibit her own artwork. She now creates paintings that tell her story, a story heavily influenced by her history with religion and spirituality, which is often overshadowed by her exploration of her sensuality. Her pieces have been featured in galleries and exhibitions across the country, earning recognition for their depth, beauty, and emotional resonance.
